Geoid not interpolated when importing points

Question: I added a new job and in Job Configuration I turned on Apply Geoid, set Interpolation Method to Bi-cubic, and selected a geoid file. Then the Import option was used to read a file of points. The points were imported successfully but no geoid values were interpolated. What's wrong?

Answer: When there are no points in a job, Geoida is not able to determine a window for the geoid data because it has no knowledge of the job's location. Therefore when the points are first imported their geoid values cannot be interpolated. You can either import the points again (ensure Replace existing points is crossed), or use the Interpolate Geoid Values in Window in the Points menu to derive the enclosing geoid window required and update the points.
