Combining data from different sources

It may occasionally be necessary to combine control survey data from different sources or separate data files, so that single traverses or networks or smaller combinations of them may be further combined for processing and adjustment as a complete unit.

For example, a large job may have necessitated multiple total station data files to have been accumulated over a period of time. Each file may be processed to the stage where a Standard Extract file has been written in each case, and all of these Extract files may then be merged into one and further processed to completion in one operation using the Process Extracted Observations option. Bearing in mind that the Traverse manual traverse entry option also produces Standard Extract files in addition to any of the data formats processed by the e-Data option, numerous variations to the concept of combining traverse or network data in this way are possible.

Refer to Editing an Extract file for details of the editing procedure.
